The vedas is important to the Hindus' because the Vedas contains complete knowledge of life and beyond. Hinduisms' rituals, beliefs and pratices are based on the Vedas.
The Upanishads are significant because they are the central religious concepts of Hinduism, to the hindus' the upanishads revealed the truth.
Ramayana is the story of a God who was born into human form to destroy the forces of evil, Ramayana is the incarnation of the Hindu God Vishnu, the sustainer of life. It is imporant because it repesents the idea that forces of evil are eternally opposed to the forces of good and must be worhipped. Ramayana as the person of Vishnu portrays the newer idea that good is stronger than evil and must triumph against it.
Mahabharata is the story of the battle between two cousins Pandavas and Kauravas for the Juru Kingdom, in the battle Kauravas destoyed and later on Pandavas dies aswell. Its importance is because it teaches that if we have a positive attitude we would be determined to succeed at all costs.
Bhagavad Gita is important as it is the practical, self-contained guide to life. It is the summary of the deepest spiritual knowledge , it is also a handbook for life.
